Carla L. Schneider, CDA, RDA, became a CDA in 1990 and an
RDA through the North Dakota Board of Dental Examiners in 1989. She was elected to the Dental Assisting
National Board’s (DANB’s) Board of Directors in August 2002 (fulfilling the end of a three-year term for a previous ADAA Representative) and held the office of Vice Chair in 2005 before being elected Chair in August 2006.
She is very proud of her CDA and believes that being DANB Certified provides self-confidence, self-fulfillment, and a greater understanding and knowledge of dentistry.
Her dedication to education has extended into the study towards a bachelor’s degree at Dickinson State University.
Ms. Schneider has been employed as a clinical assistant to Dr. Mark W. Nelson in Hettinger, ND, since 1982. In addition to chairside assisting, her duties also include the role of office manager. She has been a member of the ADAA since 1983 and has served on the North Dakota Dental Assistants Association (NDDAA) in the capacity of President, President-elect, Secretary/Treasurer, and Editor.
On the national level, Ms. Schneider has held the offices of ADAA President, President-elect, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Secretary, and Seventh District Trustee. She also served on the ADAA's foundation as a director.
Ms. Schneider has served as secretary on the Board of Directors of the ND Dental Foundation (since 1998). She currently serves as Liaison of the NDDAA to the ND Board of Dental Examiners.
Ms. Schneider is also a member of the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures and the American Association of Dental Office Managers. In 1995, she received a Meritorious Service Award from the ND Dental Foundation; in 1996, she received the ND Dental Assistants Association Recognition Award. |
