Frank Maggio, D.D.S., was elected to DANB's Board of Directors in August 2010 and is serving the first of a possible two three-year terms. DANB's Board elected Dr. Maggio from a slate of qualified nominees provided by the American Dental Association (ADA).
Dr. Maggio graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry, and after military service went on to receive his Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Illinois Medical Center College of Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Maggio is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry, Department of Periodontology. He is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Odontographic Society of Chicago.
As a member of the ADA since 1971, Dr. Maggio has served on numerous committees, councils and task forces. He was Chairman of the Council on Dental Education and Licensure and also served as the ADA Trustee from Illinois. He has also been President of the Illinois State Dental Society, the McHenry County Dental Society and the Fox River Valley Dental Society; he is currently Secretary of the Fox River Valley Dental Society.
In addition to his membership in the ADA and his Fellowships in the other professional dental organizations noted above, Dr. Maggio is an active member of the American Association of Dental Boards, the American Dental Education Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology. He is also the current Vice-Chairman of the Dental Lifeline Network (formerly the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped) and is a former Board member of the Illinois Board of Professional Regulation and the ADA Foundation. |
